Our Team

Our therapy and counseling services are offered by an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals from Germany, Egypt, and the West Bank. Get to know them now.

We are united by a common goal: to provide evidence-based, empathetic, and reliable support to Arabic speaking people in difficult life situations.

The project is headed by Dr. Maya Böhm and Dr. Yuriy Nesterko, both psychologists and researchers on trauma and transcultural studies.

Dr. Sophie Clever, a psychologist, has been coordinating the project for many years.

Sophie Klein is coordinating the project for more than 5 years, focusing on the administration and communication in and around the project.

Majdy Aldoibal, a psychologist, is in charge of the therapeutic coordination.

Maram Al Moadamani, a psychologist, is responsible for social media and support inquiries.

Mariam has been developing and managing our social media channels as Social Media Officer for many years.

Freya Specht and Max Vöhringer are accompanying the project on a scientific basis.

Ten highly qualified therapists and counselors from Egypt and the West Bank who have all been trained in the specific counselling and therapy methods offered, have been working with us for several years.

We receive ongoing support and consultation by the founders of the program Prof. Dr. Maria Böttche, and Prof. Dr. Christine Knaevelsrud from Freie Universität Berlin and Prof. Dr. Birgit Wagner (Medical School Berlin).

What other patients say

  • “I would like to thank you for your communication, understanding, reading my messages, and all the advice you have given me. Perhaps sometimes I felt that you were the only one who truly connected with me. Thank you for giving me a sense of safety and allowing me to release all the pain and negative energy I had stored up. At a time when I wasn’t talking to anyone and had trust in no one, all my love and respect to you for your efforts. I will miss you.”

  • “I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the care and great support I received during my treatment in your program. The therapeutic experience has been a significant turning point for me, from the very first moment until the end of the program. Thank you all for your efforts and for the safe and comfortable environment you provided me. I will always be grateful for your support and the positive impact you have had on my life. With sincere appreciation and respect.”

  • “I would like to thank the therapist because there were times when I wrote in a very emotional manner, and I expected the therapist to get angry or laugh at my feelings. However, I was surprised to find that they appreciated and understood me. They just saw me as the person I am. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
